To all: You have a very supportive, intelligent, and refreshingly sane population on this thread. I have been lurking here since Ames was under $5 last spring and many times have kicked myself for not getting in then. I am only a small player though, and at its current values it is simply out of my range (meaning any purchase I could make now would not yield a significant return for me even if the stock goes to the much-sought-after $60 range). Now I didn't just stop by here to pump you all up with a bunch of feel-good about your thread, rather, I came by because I started a thread recently on Bradlees (whom I've seen occasionally mentioned here), and, well, it's getting lonely over there <g>. I've been talking to myself for a few weeks and it just doesn't seem to be doing me any good except that the stock price has risen in the past two weeks from the mid .20s to a high today of 1.00 and a close at .87. This resulting from their recent filings and public record of two consecutive profitable quarters (if I understand the filings correctly, and I am a novice at this). Now I'm not saying this is another Ames, and in fact, I know for you guys this is the competition, but I'm posting here to see if I can lure some of you guys over to have a look and maybe contribute some of the impressive DD work and retail sector knowledge I've seen displayed here. I'm not a spammer and am sincerely trying to raise the interest of folks that know this sector and can contribute to the thread. Thanks for bearing with me on this. I will not clutter your thread with any further messages on the subject. Here's the link to the Bradlees thread:
