Mikey:

I think we're arguing towards the same points. Unfortunately there's not enough room on this board to ramble into detail about my earlier points, but I'll touch on a few last points at the risk of flogging a dead horse.

-The purpose of Network General acquisition, while gaining some additional revenue from Sniffer, was to gain R&D guys who know networking. Combine them with a bunch of good software engineers and you've got a pretty powerful R&D team that can develop/transition/integrate products for networks. So I think that the product development and integration issues are resolved sooner than poeple may expect (but I agree that it will still take a while - "several quarters" does mean years). You're absolutely right -- the bet IS on developing comprehensive integrated solutions. I'm confident that they will deliver on integration.

-NETA will become a strategic vendor as it establishes a dominant position as an enterprise security solution provider. Customers will make strategic networking purchases from CSCO, but make strategic security purchases from NETA. This will pan out as long as NETA provides a level of security and breadth of products that is more comprehensive than anything CSCO provides.

That being said, any coments on my previous questions re: help desk and strategic timing?

I appreciate the good insights,

-Ranch
