I agree Brian. I will be worried when I see solid indications that this environment will continue into 1999. I firmly believe that most analysts and investors look ahead at least 2 quarters and probably more. The fact that AMAT's price is holding up so well indicates the analysts believe that end of 98 and into 99 things will look much brighter.

Brian,

Re: "We are lower than where were were last oct."

Were the highs even rational? IMO, they were not.

Re: "And I have seen few lucid posts regarding this; mostly gloom & doom scenarios based upon opinion only. And when the future is cloudy and things uncertain, opinion in this environment can be tantamount to rumor."

If you would try to practice what you are preaching here. What "facts" or even convincing arguments have you posted on the AMAT thread lately. And that first post that I have linked there, what "facts" can it possibly lend to our AMAT discussions? IMHO, it amounted to an attack on Aki. And in this case, Aki has his facts a heck of a lot straighter than his adversary. (But I don't think you read it close enough to tell.) Posts like that one only cause anger and hurt feelings.

Please, dear God, can we move on to discussing issues that matter and not hurt each other??

This is really stupid, uncalled for, and I am outta here.
Teri

PS. Also, you have a tendency to call any post that doesn't predict AMAT's swift, upward movement, "doom and gloom". And that is just not the case.
