>>Dvorak's case was case was the Alpha chip ...

Dvorak's case was partly the Alpha chip and other drivel,
supporting my case (about his head location). He ignored
(or was, more likely, unaware and/or unable to comprehend)
my case on relative sizes and resource requirements,
which (my case, that is) is good, and Rudedog's case on
markets and strategies, which is far stronger.

Indeed, Rudedog's case is compelling and the real crux of the
whole business, or rather, of the absurdity of it. Give
me a break--no way Andy's gonna piss off his entire
non-CPQ clientel by selling against them; shoot, by
amassing an ARMY against 'em. He's been silly enough to
try that before (heck, he's an
engineer) and has paid the price. But Intel was much
smaller then. If he does, a new day will dawn at
AMD, SGI, Cyrix, etc, etc. Well, I suppose we should never
underestimate hubris, but I just can't buy it.
