The cleanest solution is the simple Ignore function. It works fine in most existing newsreaders, chat software and e-mail clients. It will work fine here as well. No reason to gunk up a simple concept with previews and all manner of other esoteric features that make the coding more involved. Michael

Dick: Good point about doubling the space. You've changed my mind about the 160 characters. Yet, I don't agree that most people are aware of the importance of creating a meaningful first line. The fact is that I myself never gave it a moment's thought until I just read your note about it. I won't forget it now. Thank you. Parenthetically, I have to wonder why the same person makes the same point any time anyone says anything about anything. Could he possibly imagine he's changing anyone's mind? Linda
