Buy now or buy after this coming Qtr. Just can decide!! I am hoping it will break to down side as well. But how low can it go ??
I don't think the price will hit below $ 65, if the coming qtr comes below.69. INTC will trade in the low 80's days before the qtr. release. If EPS is in the high .60's it will trade in the low $70's, if it comes in the high .70 this baby will trading in the mid $80's

IMHO

Barry,

The fact that you think Intel may make as little as 50 cents per share doesn't make any sense to me. My reasoning goes back to the very nature of Intel and their corporate culture. They basically spelled it out for everyone on March 5 that they were going to make roughly 72 cents or so. They gave everyone their gross margins of 53%, they gave you a revenue forecast of 10% less than Q4, and they gave everyone an updated expense forecast. This all came two full months into their quarter. They have a very good idea where they stand two months into their quarter. They don't BS. Things aren't going to change that much in the three weeks since they made that statement, which will close out the current quarter.

If you recall the last pre announcement back in late May of '97, Intel gave a revenue forecast of 5 to 10% lower than the previous quarter. The stock tanked about 20 points that morning but closed about 10 points lower. I think it closed about 160 or so, I forget. Anyway, when they reported in July they made almost exactly what we would have expected according to their forecast which was given two months into that quarter. I think it was about 82 cents (right after the split). Guess how much lower their revenue was from Q1? It was exactly 7.5% lower quarter over quarter. Right smack in the middle of their forecast. My point is, when Intel gives a forecast two months into a current quarter, that's the way it's going to pan out.

If they report less than 70 cents, I'll be very, very surprised - as well as upset.

Regards,

Doug McLeod

I think Intel is acting extremely weak and will certainly break 75 on the downside to at least the very low 70's, probably well into the 60's.
