Mr. King, So sorry to discredit your Ovoid "story", but DDH-2 intercepted what later became known as the "Mini-Ovoid", a separate orebody. DDH-7 was the Ovoid's discovery hole spotted and angled by me (at the request of Diamond Field's management on 11-Jan-95, when DDH-6 was at a depth of 243 metres.) Yeah, I also told them to "fire" their silly "geologist" for drilling "blind" to that depth based largely on 100-metre a-spacing Maxmin data. They faxed me the Maxmin profile that night, and I told them the next morning to move the drill from 0+90S to 3+20S, angle the hole 50ø to the north, and they would hit the source of the conductor at a drill-depth of about 20 metres. Finally, DDH-6 was ended at 383.1 metres (a very barren borehole all in gneiss below 147 m ) and the drill was moved to 3+02S (note the field dudes got the 2 and 0 backwards, ha, ha) to drill DDH-VB-95-07. Drilling commenced on 17-Jan-95 and was the first to intercept the Ovoid orebody at 19.5 meters drill-depth and "popped" out of Massive Sulfide into Basal Breccia troctolite at a drill-depth of 123.8 metres. Yeah, Boulle, Freidland, and Chislett were very pleased with my interpretation of the Maxmin. Yup, that's how in part I got hired by Diamond Fields and got awarded all those cheap stock options . I also recommended that Archean hire their own geophysicists in March, and you, Mr. King, (hired in July-95? as "they" could be very slow) was one of Archean's best hires in my never humble opinion. Sorry Mr. King, but there are always alot of "myths" and outright lies concerning major discoveries--world-class discoveries usually have even more "fibs" as you no doubt know very well. Always remember, exploration failures are always "orphans", but major discovers have many "fathers and mothers" (and many of those dudes/dudettes like to tell stories to the "newbies"). Believe whatever or whoever you want to, but I'm not apologizing to anyone about what I consider major exploration FU's in the beginning at Voisey's. Regards, T. (oh yeah, I've got a few credentials too -- formerly, Chief Geophysicist, Diamond Fields Resources Ltd.)
