CPQ traded 19.5M shares today. A big drop from the 30-40M share days of recent weeks. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? To me it seems that the stock has "calmed" somewhat. A few more days of lower volumes and I'm calling it a bottom.

I'm very long CPQ and will be accumulating as we swing upward. This stock is going no where but up.

Peace

AFTER THE BELL! Compaq announces buyback program on free monitors! For every monitor given away free, Compaq will buy it back within 30 days. CNBC reports that Compaq management are in intensive meetings to determine a strategy that will avoid infinite loops. However, the decision will not be an easy one, because infinite loops have the advantage of making Compaqs sales look good.

PS: I'm long Compaq. But I need a humour-break or I'll go berserk!

Agree CPQ is a great longer term play, but I think it could take two or three quarters. I plan to buy on any dips. If I'm wrong and miss the bottom, I'll buy once the up trend is established. For buy and hold investors, I think CPQ at these levels represents a big opportunity.
