Taoman: The other company I recall Texaco mentioning, (today at the SPG YEAR 2000 Conference)in the same sentence with TAVA, is BDM. (http://www.bdm.com).

BDM also presented at the conference today. They were recently bought by TRW (http://www.bdm.com/bdm/press/97BDMTRW.htm). From their press release last November:

"BDM is a multinational information technology company based in McLean, Va., that provides systems integration and computer services to public sector and commercial customers. Revenue in 1996 totaled approximately $1 billion. The company employs approximately 9,000 people in 110 worldwide locations. "

...and...

"Additionally, BDM's expertise in integrated supply chain management offers important efficiencies to our own automotive organization and its customers. BDM's Automotive Center of Excellence in Michigan serves the automotive industry by providing global solutions to reduce costs for companies developing world cars and components."

At the session today BDM didn't name customers, but indicated they are engaged in several embedded systems Y2K projects, including ones with equipment inventories over 80,000 items.
