Ignacio, even your writing style is different in your post. I am really puzzled here!!! Carol and I were talking about how we felt, and it is certainly all right to do that here. We were giving our opinions of Willey's truthfulness based on body language, eye movements, etc. It is certainly not conclusive that Willey asked a friend to lie--Julia Hyatt Steele accepted money from the National Enquirer under very suspicious circumstances. Clinton's attorney Kendall is also National Enquirer's attorney. The circumstances of Willey's book deal are very much in question, with both sides saying radically different things. How was the CBS show orchestrated to look Bennett look bad? I realize they cut some of his remarks, but did they tell him to look at the floor when he spoke? I don't think so. Regardless of what you think about Willey, the White House tried to smear her in the same way that Anita Hill was smeared--because she stayed on friendly terms with the President. She did this in order to survive, obviously. She was a new widow, and her husband left her deeply in debt. Do you know just how many women have come forth now and testified under oath that Clinton is a sexual predator, Ignacio? Several of whom we are aware. The White House is very good as spinning everything, and have private investigators, attorneys, and other people like big campaign contributor Martin Landow working behind the scenes to pay people off, get them jobs, threaten them, etc. I did see the former Miss USA from Arkansas who claimed that Clinton had sex with her after forcing himself on her in the back of a limousine. She was asked about the incident, and stated that while she said that she now denies it, and signed something to that effect. I watched her carefully also, and my gut feeling is that she is now lying. Why would all these women be coming out of the woodwork if Clinton did not have a lot of problems like this? Some of them, including Willey, are very reluctant witnesses. Why does there seem to be a continuing pattern of tampering with witnesses, threats, and offers of employment, and feet dragging on releasing documents for years sometimes, unless they help the President's spin, and then they are released immediately? Why all the attempts to smear the reputations of these women? This is a very high stakes, cynical game, but a bunch of women did not just get together to ruin the President's reputation. Anyway, I will wait and see what happens, just like we all will. In the meantime, the Feelings thread has always been a place to express feelings, opinions, whatever. It can get a little rough sometimes, but it is usually pretty real, and Carol and I expressed our real feelings. I hope everyone continues to do that!! Christine
