Tim -
Your're looking for either WINPROXY or WINGATE.

wingate.net or winproxy.com

Lots of opinions pro and con for each. Suggest go to bottom of page and enter either name for text search for opinions. Both products are downloadable and functional with certain time restrictions. No problems with Win 95 or 98.

Been there, done that with bookmarks, also consider backing up your password files (yourname.pwl)

Added a second phone line, keeping things separate now, looking for a local ISP that supports MultiLink PPP to combine the speed of two or more modems (or ISDN's). Nifty Win 98 feature, but so far ISPs have been clueless! :-)

Your old version of Netscape should still be on your hard drive Progaram files\Netscape\navigator and look for bookmark.html. I am not sure how to import the file into communicator but it should be fairly easy, use your Netscape help for the info. Also under the Netscape directory you'll see a folder for communicator , Netscape, and possibly users. Your old book marks will be in the directory Netscape.
Also try a hard drive search for the key word bookmark.html or bookmark.htm. Let me know if this helped or not. Good luck.

Tim,
I've been trying to deal with the same problem. I've tried WinProxy which works to some extent but not all applications will function with out extensive setup (ie RT III, Ichat pager etc) One product which was suggested to me on another thread was NAT1000 ( http:/www.nevod.com ) although I have not tried this product - it functions as a VPN as opposed to a proxy server and claims that all client apps will run "as is" The product description on their site refers to having to have have 2 NICs on the machine which connects to the internet - I checked with Nevod tech support and they tell me that a modem qualifies as an NIC although the current version of the product does not support dial on demand.
Hope this is helpful.
Regards,
Fred
