C'mon, R-man. This is California. Get a Hummer. There's three or four of the damned things in my neighborhood. They could have a rally and invade Yorba Linda.

Rocketman,

I for one can vouch for the Toyota SUV's. I drive a 96 4 Runner and it plows through 1 ft. of snow with no problem...no chains (I hate them). My dad drives a Land Cruiser and it is also solid as a rock in the snow and ice. I've driven a Jeep Cherokee Limited for a while and it is not as solid in the loose stuff, the back end feels squirley. My step-mom has a 96 Suburban and it is not as stable as either Toyota (My dad hates it). Trust me on my experience...my parents live @ 7400 ft in Tahoe, so I've driven through the worst. 2 yrs ago, in the blizzard b4 X-mas, it took me 6 hrs to drive from Carson City, NV to South Lake Tahoe (they live @ the top of Kingsbury Grade)...in good weather the drive takes less than a 1/2 hr.

Just my 2 cents,

Where'd He Go?
