aki, you said > I really don't understand why there is this tension..<

People know its useless to fight the Market, so they turn on each
other instead. Common phenomenon.

I think the tension might arise because the Dow and S&P are at record highs and NAZ at or near one. A lot of blue chips, deservedly or not, are at record highs....Has AMAT hit a 52 week high or has it participated in the rally?? Obviously not, as everyone knows....The tension arises when one is long AMAT (at too high a % of their portfolio) at the wrong time and, therefore, ones portfolio does not reflect a cool 10-12% gain YTD....Sure it depends on when you bought and sold, but there are those that are watching the market scream higher with no sign of abating and what are they doing??? HOPING AMAT will participate....It has not! It will in the future, even more so, but it has been a laggard somewhat....so therefore the tension....JMHO....No one wants to hear "it's not hard to make money in this market" and then look at a portfolio that might be lagging... Oh well, Good Luck to all!!!
