Ignacio, I am not exactly jumping to judge the President. I have had basically the same opinion about this President's general moral standards since the first campaign. But I did hope he would do wonderful things for America, and I have not been very impressed. I think he got really lucky with the economy--I believe presidents have very limited control over what happens economically. I respect him trying to help solve the problems in Northern Ireland. I thought he folded on the gays in the military issue, and that was cowardly in my opinion. Are you holding up Linda Tripp as the final authority on the Clinton scandals? Good, guess what!!! Then Clinton is TOAST, okay? I think maybe we should all calm down and wait for the inquisition to play out. But I must say that the President himself promised us the truth, more rather than less, sooner rather than later, and then sent his spin team out instead to destroy every reputation it could, while he has remained silent. Maybe you should read "Primary Colors", Ignacio. It was written by Joe Klein of Newsweek, who covered the campaign. I understand it is much better, and offers more detail, than does the movie version which opens today. I don't believe the White House has ever challenged the veracity of the book, has it? I am as interested in why what I say about the President disturbs you as you are that I have seemingly jumped to judge him, Ignacio. My opinion is worth a hill of beans, really. Christine
