ASE SYMBOL: SCO MARCH 20, 1998 Scarlet Announces Receipt for Final Prospectus CALGARY, ALBERTA--Scarlet Exploration Inc. ("Scarlet") announces that it has obtained a receipt dated March 19, 1998 from the Alberta Securities Commission for its final prospectus relating to the qualification for distribution of common shares of Scarlet upon the exercise of its previously issued 800,000 special warrants. A copy of the final prospectus and notice respecting the exercise of the special warrants will be mailed to all registered holders of special warrants directly, and certificates representing their common shares will be delivered in the ordinary course. First Marathon Securities Limited acted as agent for Scarlet with respect to the issuance and sale of the subject special warrants which were issued on a flow-through basis on November 27, 1997 at $1.25 per special warrant.
