But Ron - I have noticed that this has been happening less and less! Many recent high profile stocks have had run-ups into bad earnings and the other way around.

I think investors are so sensitive to little dips or little spikes right before earnings that it has been easier to fake this "chart look" with a few carefully timed big block trades. I'm still guessing this is the case with this recent COMS dip and this upcoming earnings release.

Traditionally, I do think it would normally be hard for COMS to beat $35 today because of options expiration. But let me predict today: someone (or group of people) would love to see COMS close above $35 (for the first time in a while on an options expiration day). My guess is that they have accumulated alot of March 35 calls for less than 1/4. So I predict alot of buying at the open and we close around $35.50 today.

But of course this is pure speculation - I haven't even been tracking COMS options over the past two weeks :(
