John, looking over the delisting rules for Nasdaq... isn't it possible that everyone has been barking up the wrong tree in search for the "mystery company" they might merge with? Perhaps the company in question has decent assets, business, etc.... they just lack the number of round lot holders (300) to stay listed? Boy, that could complicate things. Just a thought...
