I would much prefer to see the money reinvested in the company. I was
merely point out on of the most efficient ways to execute a buyback program.

This is all opinion of course and it is up to management to decide if additional funds spent on sales, R&D, etc. will return dollar for dollar down the road. As for debt, I don't think CheckFree has allot of it. An additional option is to do both, you could spend some on additional Sales and R&D and some on a stock buyback. IMO

IMO, it would also improve the stock price over the long term.

Sometimes, you need to throw the dog a bone. This stock is been trading in the same range since the IPO in 1995. If you want to attract new investors, and not ignore current investors, at some point management needs to address the price of the stock.
