Industry Leaders Unveil Next-Generation Storage -- DVD+RW Drives With Read and Write Capabilities newsalert.com <<Hewlett-Packard Company, Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, Philips Electronics N.V., Ricoh Company Ltd., Sony Corporation and Yamaha Corporation today will demonstrate the read and write capabilities of a prototype DVD-ReWritable (DVD+RW) drive here at CeBIT '98, which is being held through March 25. During this first-ever public demonstration of the write capabilities of this DVD+RW format, digital bitmap images will be written to a DVD+RW drive in real time, and then the DVD disk will be read. Product prototypes based on the DVD+RW specification are expected to reach U.S. markets by this fall. >>
