I think the Intel price cut reflects their need to get the market moving to the higher end. Besides, it probably costs Intel less to make a 333 vs a 300 P2 as the later uses .35um vs .25um.

Bosco: I agree. INTC will have to sacrifice margins but those margins have been among the highest in the computer. CRUS and SIII (and others) have had much lower margins and therefore only stand to gain from an increase in volume (assuming that they can fill their orders).

I also agree with Ted regarding INTC's future. I don't see a CPU intensive Killer-App on the horizon that current CPUs are unable to handle. To continue to grow they must diversify their business. I'm not going to contribute to an INTC-CRUS acquisition but something's gotta happen.

Either way, I don't think the INTC news is bad for CRUS.
