so $0.50 - 0.52 Canadian converts to
$0.35 - 0.37 USA bucks

BTW IR told be he his filling PEAFF orders above and below Cdn quotes so be careful if buying in US . It's cheaper either way to buy direct in Canada.

BTW, the rumor is that a new OEM will announce licensing of WAVX meter.

This is how it works. The boxmaker (e.g., Dell, IBM) bundles software for sale on every new computer. The PC purchaser inspects the software bundle and purchases samples of the programs or games he is interested in. The Wave Systems meter keeps track of which program is rented and how much time is spent playing it. The meter than sends billing information to the vendor. If you decide to buy the whole game, you will pay a maximum 80% of the retail price. Let's take the exmaple of Tomb Raider. You would purhcase one level of the game (it has 17 levels) for $2. You like the game very much, so you purchase two more levels. The meter takes your order and sends an encrypted order to the vendor, who then downloads the new levels to your PC. You end up paying $34 for the whole game, less than you would pay at the store.

WAVX may have the answer to a common complaint: "I bought software that is useless to me. I wish I could ahve tried it before I wasted the time going through all those aisles at Best Buy!" And in most cases you cannot return used software. Imagine, you can sample all the software you thought of buying but were afraid to.

How does this help boxmakers? Well, they would get a cut of the rent-to-own revenues. They can then lower the price of the PC, giving them a cost advantage. IBM was the first to bite (incidentally, IBM gave up its own expensive efforts to develop a digital usage chip, decided to go with WAVX's instead!). Once the other people like Dell and Compaq see IBM getting a price advantage, they will rush to the door.

There is a nice video clip of CEO Peter Sprague giving a talk to Buy Side analysts as wallstreetforum.com. Pay careful attention to the Q & A session, when an analyst asks "Why aren't they other OEMs stumbling all over themsleves to get into your door?" CEO Sprague answered "But they are!" You need RealAudio 4.0 or better. After you listen to his talk, you will walk away a changed person....
