Evan,

Concerning the issue of government regulation of the 'net, go to the March 15 article on the subject in Americas Networks Magazine:

americasnetwork.com

It's titled: "Regulating the 'Net. Why the FCC's hands-off approach won't work." by Alan Pearce

I think that this issue of regulation can turn on its head in a wink, well, maybe a couple of winks and a yawn, nevertheless it is probably one of the most crucial factors in determining the fate of the "PSTN-emulating" VoIP community over the course of the next several years. I found it worth reading, in any event. In the same issue there is another article titled "SCP vs. ESP" which discusses Intelligent Network hooks for enhanced service providers. Another one does a teatment on local number portability (LNP) and the dooms day-like aura that exists in the *regular* PSTN, never mind the Internet variant.

Enjoy, and Regards,

Frank Coluccio
