Short term trading in MLNM: By eventually being totally out of a stock for 31 days between sets of trades, I can simply take the total trades and net rather than have to "itemize" them against each other (all are short term). Otherwise the IRS rules can be pretty messy (must declare profits but use losses to adjust basis). I got back the MLNM I sold Thursday at 19 3/4 Friday at 19 1/4 and 19 but, of course, ended up with it since it never came back Friday. But I bet it will hit at least 19 3/4 to 20 some time again within the next week, unless the whole market tanks.

On similar stocks: BCHE continues strong but VRTX was weak Friday and could be a good short term play early next week. I bought more VRTS Friday at 33 and sold at 33 9/16 but got stuck with the 1k shares I bought latThursday at 34 1/8. Can't win them all but VRTX at 32 1/2 now looks good and I will probably buy the 1k back on Monday.
