NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 20, 1998--Altris Software, Inc. ("Altris" or the "Company") (NASDAQ/NNM:ALTS.O) was named a defendant in a class action lawsuit filed on March 19, 1998, in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California, Civil Action No. 98-CV-0553 IEG (RBB), on behalf of purchasers of the Company's securities between April 18, 1996 and March 11, 1998 (the "Class Period"). The Complaint charges Altris and certain individuals employed by the Company with violating the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 by artificially inflating Altris' stock price during the Class Period through, among other things, falsely recognizing revenue by concealing accounting irregularities which caused an extraordinary overstatement of earnings over the past two years. In addition, the complaint alleges that defendants continuously disseminated materially false and misleading statements regarding the Company's current financial performance and business prospects. The Company recently admitted that it is reviewing its financial statements to determine if the revenue reported for prior periods was recognized in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Plaintiff seeks to recover damages on behalf of all class members and is represented by Weiss & Yourman, a law firm having significant experience and expertise prosecuting class actions on behalf of investors and shareholders in federal and state courts throughout the United States, particularly those involving false financial statements. The firm maintains offices in New York City and Los Angeles. The firm has repeatedly been appointed by courts as leading counsel in numerous complex litigations and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of investors. If you are a member of the Class described above, you may, not later than sixty (60) days from today, move the Court to serve as lead plaintiff of the Class, if you so choose.
