Business Summary

DELL designs, develops, manufactures, markets and services computer systems (desktop, notebooks, and network servers). DELL also markets software, peripherals and service and support programs. For the nine months ended 11/2/97, revenues rose 61% to $8.59 billion. Net income before extraordinary item increased 92% to $659 million. Revenues reflect growth across all product lines (particularly desktop products). Earnings also reflect component costs declines
