Thank you for that explanation Marcos. Much appreciated. I also thought I'd post the following from Carson:FYI -- I have just spoken with an advisor to the Senate Environment Committee who CONFIRMS that Dr. Bernardo Alvarez is to step down as President of the House of Representatives Energy & Mines Committee when a vote takes place some time next week. Until that time he remains in full control and authority of the Committee as President and can NOT be considered a "lame duck" by any stretch of the imagination. Certain innacuracies have crept into the Stockwatch report: Dr. Alvarez Herrera is a Congressional Representative with the Patria Para Todos (PPT) party which is somewhat close to Causa R (Radical Cause) but still NOT swallowed by that party. The change in presidency of the Committee is NOT as sinister as perhaps one would be led to believe, and certainly hasn't made great waves here in Venezuela, simply because it's a trickle-down effect from the re-alignment of parliamentary support for President Caldera's (breakaway Copei) Convergencia party which had previously had the general support of Movimiento al Socialismo (MAS) in broad if sometimes conflictory alliance with Causa R.. Since the presidencies of the Senate and House have changed, and the percentages also on the floor of both houses, Accion Democratica (AD) -- which is basically Social Democratic in nature -- and the Christian Socialists (Copei) have shuffled the cards on party representation in each and every Committee and Sub-Committee. This, in itself, is not unusual and is simple political bartering. It is considered extremely unlikely (to the point of being extremely incredible!) that COPEI will get control of the Energy & Mines Committee (that's perhaps more wishful thinking on Rodriguez Acosta's part!) but the safest bet is that it will be taken by AD. I haven't bothered to telephone Dr. Alvarez this late on a Friday evening, but hope to speak with him at some juncture over the weekend. Certainly, he seems to have been put "on edge" by the Stockwatch interviewer but my notes from MY interview with him on Thursday clearly show what was said. best regards Roy S. Carson PS -- Saturday morning 11.05 -- I should point out to anyone interested (?) that Ambassador Enrique Tejera Paris is a long-standing and prominent member of the Accion Democratic (AD) party having served as Venezuela's Foreign Minister among other honorable positions. To those of you who may not know, I though I might clarify these 'honourable positions' that Mr. Carson alludes to. In addition to having held the post of Venezuela's Foreign Minister, Ambassador Paris is Venezuela's former ambassador to the United Nations, former ambassador to the United States, former ambassador to Spain (his latest post) and has also held a senior position at the IMF. In addition, Ambassador Paris' son had former United States president Lyndon Baines Johnson as godfather. He is currently on Crystallex's Board of Directors as well as President of Crystallex Venezuela. I leave it to the very astute members of this forum to explain to me why a man of his pedigree would get involved in a scam that (as some shorters have boldly stated here) is worse than BreX.
