It had the look of a mutual funds shifting assets from the tech sector to another. I heard oil stocks were strong today.

There was nothing specific associated to Dell to cause the stock to drop.

Options expiration may have played a role to manipulate the stock price to desired levels.

There was no fundimental change to the tech sector. Intel was down due to their price cut but as in the past that only helps Dell. HWP should have been up due to their JAVA news but they couldn't pull it out.

Good days ahead, Pat

AMG,

DELL's decline today was related to options expiration (I've been
posting for the past few weeks that it would close around 62.5
or 65...stocks always get pulled near a strike price during triple
witching Friday). However, I feel that a further pullback is
likely, when the market finally digest all the bad news that has
built up. Semiconductor equipment makers, such as AMAT, KLAC, &
NVLS will be the first to recover from the slump once it's over.
DELL is likely to fall the furthest, as it has outperformed the
market during its last runup. It will come back, but first take
a breather.
