I still haven't looked at these internet stocks, but hey, found a client today who wants me to send them a contract for 300 hours of Informix consulting and they will pay the retainer. I like it. Pay me now and I work later. That's the only way to do it. In my line of work, we have the curve of decreasing satisfaction. You can summarize it as: Week 1: GREAT RESULT! GOD! I'm glad you were on my side. I'll pay anything. Week 2: GOOD JOB! What would I have done without you? Week 3: I'm glad we got the result we did. Thanks. Week 4: You did a pretty decent job. Week 5: Hmmmmm. Seems to me I could have done it myself. Week 6: What? You want me to pay you? Week 7: I think you should reduce your fee. Anyone could've done it. Always get the retainer up front. BTW: PFE is getting set to smoke. Climb on board while there's time.
