Big article in the WSJ interactive about SGI on 3-19. This article suggests that Alias/Wavefront might be spun off, and talks about big competition from Microsoft. It also paints a picture of SGI as a money-losing UNIX dinosaur struggling to play catch-up. Not too much good stuff about the NT machine to come.

I am feeling rather optomistic. I expect another couple of slow weeks, then a rapid ramp up when no bad earnings pre-announcement materializes. The street knows bad earnings are factored in. Oracle's recent upside surprise might presage a similar event for SGI, which has closely tied interests. Go SGI! --JD
