Stopped by the Progress (PRGS) booth at the SPG internet/intranet trade show in New York today. I just had to ask about the year and a half old rumor about that MSFT was going to buy out PRGS. You know, the one where Shawn Murphy gave a blow by blow, i.e. the deal is signed, they are just haggling over the price.

I gave the guy several choices:
a) True, but we could never come to terms
b) Somewhat true; we had a few discussions about it
c) Total hoax

The guy said he was in constant contact with the CEO during that time and can say without a doubt "c"-- a total hoax. Of course, it now comes as no surprise, but I figure I'd close the books on that one. (g)

Vicki: I've been to Landry's in Clear Lake (outside Houston) a couple of times. Very good seafood. Then again, JMHO.
