If that is the case, then they must be looking for institutional buyers. That being so, what will be the float available to them? Would not a larger number of shares make the stock less volatile and more appealing to large institutions?

The latest rumor I heard Thursday was that they were not splitting the stock right away. They are waiting for a while and they might have a secondary offering later to raise some more cash. If they do have a secondary offering they will split the stock to around $20 a share.
