That is for SuperValue Checking (4% interest).

There is no fee for NetValue Checking if you have over $10,000 with
them (3% interest).

NetValue Checking Details
The rate on our NetValue Interest Checking Account is 3.00% with a 3.05% annual percentage yield. Rate accurate as of January 1, 1998. Minimum balance to open
account and obtain rate is $100. A monthly fee of $4.50 per statement cycle will be charged. Monthly fee waived if combined deposits in your NetValue Interest
Checking or your Money Market Account, or both, is $10,000 or more. Only personal accounts of less than $100,000 are eligible. Fees could reduce earnings.
Interest rates subject to change at bank's discretion.

The service charge is only if you have a combined balance under $10,000. You will pay a service charge on the SuperValue checking (but why would you want it?) Their regular checking is about 3% and money market is about 5.5%.

Bottom line is you get free checking, free savings, free ATM and unlimited free bill paying with no monthly charge. Right?

It's kinda confusing. I think they'd do themselves a big favor to just drop the SuperValue checking. It makes it read like there is a monthly fee to get their great rates.

Emory,

I agree about the 4.50 monthly fee. For the sake of $50. a year these
folks are loosing customers. And yet I bet they are paying a lot for
advertising and marketing to bring in customers and I bet it works out
to a lot more in advertising cost and lost customer revenue than the
lousy $50. per year IMO.
