Gee, Mayo, I have two cats that follow me around all day. One of them spends most of her time sleeping on my shoulder while I play on the computer. I have a tankful of goldfish that I have rescued from the feeder tanks at the pet store, so they won't end up being eaten by mean tropical fish. Some of them are several years old now, and eight or ten inches long. Why would you suggest that I club the unsuspecting? If you are referring to the Christians who came over here to explain what the Bible, they were treated respectfully for the most part, and I think several of us are genuinely concerned about Jane, in particular. I know I am. I would agree that some friction occurred when some of the pagans and atheists and agnostics and more liberal Christians perceived a bit of intolerance coming from the Christians. But really, the issue is important in American society--real people are being hurt and are dying because of bigotry against homosexuals. I would rather have it get a little rough over here than avoid tough issues, because I think they are important to discuss. And certainly Ask God and other threads like that have not always been entirely welcoming places for some of us who have visited them.
