You are wrong because you trade stocks and not options and dont know the lingo or the purpose behind the different strategies.. here is a paste from the site about why you would do a strangle FOR VOLATILITY not floundering e-analytics.com The investor would use this options strategy if he felt that the underlying security is volatile and is going to make a large move. However, the investor doesn't know the direction of the move. and many times if I think of doing something that is not just buying a call or a put I have to go to that site and look it up to make sure I have the right lingo, the right concept, the right reason
