Weekly Portfolio

The stop on FONR filled at 2 7/16, returning over $800 to the account. With the $1000 left after the last sale, there is $1,812 in the account. I did not set a stop on CPQ as I felt it would vary some this week. I know that is not in the keeping with the exact spirit of this exercise, but hey, it is my money...

Of the candidate stocks to add to in the present portfolio, both PXD (26 1/16) and FTPS (3 1/16) are both up and moving nicely. UTI is up as well, but the 1000 shares of that is all I want to hold of any given stock. Since the available funds won't buy 300 shares of PXD, I will add 500 shares of FTPS (limit buy on Monday for 3.0625). The six stocks now in the portfolio are UTI (1000 shares), PXD (300) , PNF (600), CRUS (300), CPQ (300) and FTPS (800 - after Monday's buy).

That leaves about $280 cash in the account, which is presently up $2,537 after commissions (about 7.25%) for the 3 weeks its been going. That equates to about a 10% monthly or 125% annual return. Not stellar performance, but for only spending about an hour on it once a week, not a bad wage. Since CRUS, PNF and CPQ are all negative right now (with CPQ hoarding the lion's share of the $1,100 loss at $650), and because all three of those are good mid-term hold candidates, doubling the initial $35k investment looks very possible. Stops will be raised to appropriate levels Monday night to protect profits.
