Hi Kemble:
With the present disarray in the cheapy store computer
market, Dell's decision to stay out of that area is beginning to look better each day. Ford, Boeing and government agencies do not change suppliers overnight nor purchase merely because of promises, when Dell is committed to provide them with the overall lower-price
cost of ownership and the latest year2000 compliant technology.
And its obvious that Dell is looking at China, Brazil,Aust., and
Europe for a great deal of growth in spite of worry over sales here.
Dell has been 'up-against it' from day 1, up against Apple, IBM, HWP, Cpq, who must have looked like much begger giants in earlier days. Knows how to survive.
If Dell ever has any slightly obsolete, or refurbished computers
to sell at a discount they will be found in the on-line company
store.
Am looking forward to seeing you at the stockholders meeting.
Sig (long on Dell)
