John, I agree with all of your post. The shorts have control of the stock right now and it will take some time to shake them out. When they do have to scurry for cover though it will only magnify the pop we will get. Nothing but bad news lately. CPQ can't even comment on the merger right now. In the next month they can make their plans clear, explain how they are making progress resolving the inventory problem, and might even have a little positive earnings surprise. Any combination of these events will send the stock higher and if all of them happen you will hear all the terrible screaming of the shorts being squeeeezed and then crushed.
