Dr. Engel:

At the present I can't argue with you. Intel does make alot of money per wafer. At the PRESENT AMD isn't making any money on the 0.35um because of poor yield. At 0.25um AMD has the "potential" to make alot of money IF THEY CAN get the yield up. If it is true that the 0.25um still has poor yield than you are correct. If AMD 0.25um yield is up then you and I will make a substantial of profits on AMD investment. We will have to wait till April for the earnings report.

RE: "AS AMD has admitted time and time again, they gey LESS functional K6 die per wafer than Intel gets functional Pentium or Pentium II."

AMD hasn't said anything for quite a while about how many functional die per wafer. But analyst Kumar said a few weeks ago that AMD is getting over 140 good die per wafer, THE SAME AS INTEL. Because of product mix (no 0.35 wafer starts in second half for AMD), by the end of the year, Maxwell's statement will be absolutely true, even if yields do not improve even further for AMD.
