Martin, >>>He's bearish over the next year or so because he sees stagnating revenues and earnings from Intel's core microprocessor business.<<<

Kurlak has almost single handedly (or at least more responsible than anyone else) kept INTC valuation at an absurd level. Compare INTC PE at 19.98 versus Coke (KO) at 45.69, Gillete (G) at 46.89, and AOL at 513.54.

Or, ALTR at 24.84, NSM at 27.03, SUNW at 24.52, and AMD at infinity.

>>>The truth is that maybe Intel (and others) has ridden the PC wave as far as it can<<<

This is absolutely absurd. The PC market has exploded in the US over the past four years - Western Europe is maybe a year(?) behind, Eastern Europe and Japan maybe 2 or 3 years behind, - India and China has yet to be heard from. Does the PC have a future? Do Cows sh*t and emit nitrogenous waste?

How would you like to have an 80% of any market whether it is match sticks, beverages, razor blades, automobiles, TV's, or even hula hoops - much less microprocessors.

>>>now (Intel) has to look at areas (such as servers) where it can add more value. Otherwise it will just become US Steel.<<<

To go from PC's to servers. WOW!!!. What a stretch. Do you really think they can do it?

What an absurd and whacky MACRO outlook.

Mary

Martin - Re: "and now has to look at areas (such as servers) where it can add more value."

Geee... maybe that's why Intel organized a Server division about 2 1/2 years ago and is the major supplier of CPUs to the low and mid-range server manufacturers with their SHV (Standard High Volume Server) platforms based on Pentium Pro Dual and Quad CPUs and upcoming Deschutes enhanced versions!

You speak as if this is some new, unforseen area that Intel hasn't ever thought about!
