Ingram Micro to assemble PCs for 'White Box' makers. Sig and thread: Here is some interesting news. Ingram,not only,is going to make PCs for CPQ,IBM and HP but also for other VARs. Very intriguing to think how the 'big' boys will feel about this,or how the VARs(White Box makers) who represents some 40% of the PC market,are going to react! Well actually Dellheads shouldn't get too much concerned about this development since DELL makes their own PCS, in their own factories using their own employees,in control of their own destiny,why should we get concerned about this at all. Let them screw around with various strategies, which at the moment seems to be, less than optimal. crn.com
