Hi Bearcat Bob,
If I recall correctly, about a year and a half ago, the 'street' in Calgary said that BEA had shopped the Turner Valley play to Shell before they convinced IMO and BKR to get involved. If Shell had signed a confidentiality agreement with an area of mutual interest clause, obviously, they would not have bid for land in this area. However, as we all now know, last spring, Shell outbid BEA and IMO for land (they paid over $1500.00 per hectare and adjoining lands in the upcoming April 15 sale are likely to be even more expensive)and have since drilled two very interesting wells. As I said before, its an open stakes poker game, bring your cheque book and pull up a chair-there's lots of room for everybody. What I am hoping for is that when some of the deep targets are tested, stock brokers will be able to see the gas flares from their office towers in Calgary. Cheers.
