Don't know what effect this may have had, but yesterday AM as I was heading out the door to go skiing I turned on the stock report on TV and they were in the midst of a big discussion of the explosion in the whole satellite communications area. Mentioned that 2/3 or whatever of the people on the planet still don't have phone service. This may be in for a bit of a ride. I added some at 7 1/4 recently that I sold at 8 1/2. Glad I held on to the older shares that I am also into at around 8 1/2. Who knows we may not have to wait years to make a buck here!

Hi James ! The only news involving SKYC was about Inmarsat going being publicized. INMARSAT compete with SKYC for maritime business. SKYC only covers up to 200 miles offshore, whereas INMARSAT covers most of the oceans in the world. INMARSAT was a government project, going private. Maybe it is believed that without government help for INMARSAT, that SKYC will be able to gain more business in that lucrative maritime market.

Aside from that, that is all I saw. ACTEL is supposed to go public on an African exchange sometime this month. The rise might also have something to do with that. The IPO is a VERY important milestone needed for SKYC to cut its loses. After the IPO, ACTEL should have the money to lease the satellite from SKYC. That will give SKYC many millions of dollars a year. Aside from capital expenditures to improve the infrastructure of its ARDIS network, and some other capital expenses, SKYC should be in WAY better financial shape.

SKYC still has a significant interest in a digital radio signal company. This company is just in the planning stages, but if all the current deals are consummated, I expect to start hearing more about the radio plans. SKYC owns about 25%. The radio station will be digital, and will cover the entire US. As I mentioned before, CDRD is currently getting ready to offer the same service (this is the only other company that has a license to compete), and that stock has been doing quite well.

I hope all this helps, but look for more news on the ACTEL deal any day now. Even after the IPO of ACTEL, certain licenses will still be needed, and the satellite will have to be moved to a different orbit, but, again, the IPO is a VERY big step in seeing SKYC to profitability (again, SKYC will still have capital improvements to make, but the systemic loses will be WAY slowed down).

I'm wondering what SKYC will do AFTER all these deals are completed. I imagine they will want to refinance. Will they look to make any other purchase, too? Or will they just continue to concentrate on AMSC and ARDIS, and start to get more aggressive with the Digital Radio situation. SKYC will not be putting out money to develop the radio, as they provided the FCC license in exchange for a minority interest by another company who is to put up all the money. I'll post more details later.
