OROM impact on hdd >>less than Zip<<. LOL Tech sector is full of vaporware breakthroughs. Even real leaps such as HDTV, minidisc, DVD and JAVA seem to bring out the worst in companies and groups whose cooperative spirit is needed for successful implementation. The biggest threat to any major technological leap is in the politics of acceptance.

I jump the gun! After reading the OROM article more carefully, this device is nothing more than a read only storage system that should replace the cd rom in the near future and has no big effect on the hard drive industry. Whew!!!!!!!!
