in valuing the price of the stock, one figure bandied about is
the 12cents a share worth of write off...they have OVER 20MILLION
in tax-loss carry-forwards..a lot of money has been spent in
r & d...that was the "good old days" !! throw in the millions
the jackson suit could bring to the company, along with the
damages from iterated, and you can total that up to a figure as
high as 40 million....100k shs out...hmmmmm <g>
speculation, of course !

"At todays price, this company is cheap even as a write off."

Eons ago when I was at Coopers & Lybrand, the national tax partner said that he was often besieged by folks at cocktail parties. The dialog he described went something like this:
"Sir, X tax shelter is a great investment. Besides it offers a 100% tax writeoff in the first year. What do you think about that idea?"
He grabbed a cocktail napkin and scribbled $10,000 on it. "I'll tell you what. Give me $10,000," he said as he pointed to the napkin, "and I'll guarantee you a 100% writeoff."
Those who ignored his advice lost their investment and incurred costs fighting the IRS on tax shelter issues.

The moral? There are no cheap writeoffs.

TMMI is no exception.
