Chat NOVL: (Or, Susie made me do it): -
NOVL has a quite positive write up in this week's Barrons. Could cause a pop on monday. Discusses how the company is really getting positioned, the value of established networks, and that NOVL will be able to withstand MSFT. Larry

Paul BTJ

>>>Also, MIND's takeover of Custom Products is completed and Customs revenue is as was projected

BTJ just bought them, right?

>>>I heard absolutely nothing negative at all from BTJ and am impressed with this little company. It's a well run company with great growth and no debt

Agree with all except no debt
They took out a bank loan to fund part of the Custom acquisition

before that they had a bit over $4mm in cash, but paid custom almost $5mm, thus the need for the $3.5mm line of credit

I'm not sure why they bought Custom; a different line of business etc

Looking at Custom they had sales of $3.3mm and a small loss due to officers salaries of $1.3mm
Very possible that if BTJ is not taking on these excessive salaries that they can run Custom at a profit that will justify a price of 3x's sales and 8x's net worth

I like what I see on BTJ a lot but this Custom thing is worth looking into some more
Also, BTJ has a huge NOL (I assume from losses in development years)so may not have to pay taxes for a long time

Anyway, this one is interesting. If you get any more answers from them please post

Chat BTJ - GNRL

Paul what are the projected earnings for BTJ? Since this is thinly traded it is going to have to have some kind of good news to get attention. Seems like in todays trading fundamentals don't mean much in determining value. It is now a gambling on analyst expected earnings and actual. If over you are rewarded extremely well. Let it fall under two cents and a big drop is sure to follow. And if you do not have a bunch of brokers earnings and growth are meaningless. It's all charting and trying to outguess market swings.

For example look at GNRL in growth, earnings, & fundamentals. Price has dropped like a rock. Others because they are put out as a buy by some analyst may leap forward on the announcement regardless of fundamental worth and proof of good management.

I think BTJ is probably a good growth company and good management. My question is how long will it take to get recognition? GNRL has dropped from 22 to 13 while fundamentals and earnings improve all the time.

If anyone on this thread can explain this paradigm of thinking it would be greatly appreciated. SOCR is another one like GNRL dropping 50% while improving value. So it is not an isolated case. For the three letters look at KEG because of a temporary oil glut dropped over half.
