Market Stats Galore

Irby just posted this link on his thread.

dailystocks.com

Lots of market stats for inquiring minds. In particular, check out the hot industries, hot sectors, hot stocks, etc. in the centre of the page.

Bonnie, as far as entering market orders on illiquid stocks. I do not do order trading but I used to, and still have a few friends that do. With the new technologies and electronic order entry , the amount of orders a trader has in one day has increased greatly. In most cases the traders are not actually "traders" any more but entry clerks and not all that well compensated. Since time is of the escence and there are no thanks for good fills, but plenty of grief for missed fills, they just slam the order in. The client gets the fill at whatever it was. This can be traced back to the broker , or salesman for the client, who gets the commision but is relatively unconcerned with the price. Most clients do not have the time or facilities to monitor the trading of a stock in which they are involved but have the mistaken,IMHO, thinking that someone cares.

Your probably correct about the REAL phrase..<g>
