Gentlemen;

I have learned alot from this thread so far. I have a question for anyone: A friend is talking about getting into Day Trading. I have heard this is very difficult. He thinks he can search for a dip, buy in and sell later that day. With commisions as they are on the web, the many trades will not negate his positions as they once would have.

I have read many times that it is better to hold onto a stock long term, altho of course, the timing will vary. Would anyone please comment?
Are there any day traders out there?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Alex, count me in for the chat. We could use MS Netmeeting to share charts etc.
