Robert, the year 2000 will not affect many Wintel machines in homes and offices. Few apps are that old. I changed my machine to 2009 6 months ago, as 2009 has the same date number and day as 1998. No crashed yet. It sure screwed a few nag screens though, they were not compliant and gave me full access as if I had entered the password.

I suspect the big old dog machines with 4 K kernels running at 10,000 gigahertz will be the ones. These were all custome jobs and the guys who wrote the un annotated stuff and compressed it into the 4K with nearly zero loose wobbleable bits have gone to programmer heaven=our hell.
Imagine writing a novel and then printing it and dissolving the paper and packing the letters into a small can, then ask some one to rewrite it, and dump out the letters. As a guide show him the reviews it got back when it was written.
