I agree, I guess he thought the hamburgers would spoil without power.

Good Investing,

<Sorry to mention Warren Buffet again, but I keep wondering why he bought all that silver, and especially why he's taking delivery of it, actually building secure storage facilities for the stuff. That has an almost apocalyptic feel to it.>

If anyone REALLY follows Y2K, you'll notice that most of the MAJOR players, who's names you see frequently in print .... are buying land in remote or rural "vacation" areas. Some have sold their primary home (and are renting) - or are planning to do so in the near future.

Warren Buffet is now one of the largest land-owners in Patagonia!!! They had a special on PBS a couple of weeks ago about how the "moneyed" were buying land down there.

For those who don't know where Patagonia is ... it's at the southern tip of South America. Borders on Chile and Argentina. Beautiful, isolated country. Inland glaciers. Towering, majestic mountains. Fertile valleys.

I climbed to the base of "Torres del Paine" about 6 years ago. Long but beautiful climb. (Writing this post prompted me to get the photo album out.)

Spent New Years in Punta Arenas. What amazed me was ... here we were ... at the southern-most "city" in the world ... next stop Antarctica ... and the temperature was in the 60's!!

Maybe I've been too immersed in my Y2K research, and see too many "connections". Still, found Buffet's large silver and land-holdings are VERY interesting ... at this point in time. Have NO idea whether he's in TAVA or not. I've just rambled on because of Patagonia memories.

For those who consider TAVA a "high-tech" company... it's NOT. It's a labor-intensive company - lots of engineers on staff ... pulling other people's high-tech elements together on the plant floor.

What makes this company SO intriguing to me, at this point in time, is the CD and proprietary database. It's a cash cow.

TAVA's core business will substantially increase before, during and after January 1, 2000. Companies are ONLY addressing mission critical systems right now. There will be a LOT more work to do AFTER 2000. Especially as viable companies acquire those companies who have failed. TAVA will be the KEA of the plant floor. Systems integrators will be consolidating thru mergers and acquisitions. It's the wave of the future. And TAVA is in the forefront.

Over the next 1-2 years ... CD will cause earnings to surge to unbelievable heights. The need is too vast. The deadline imminent. IMHO

I won't be in the market January 1,2000. I'll be out well before then. Even with my beloved TAVA. Maybe a small position in my SEP-IRA. I'm one of those people who would rather be safe than sorry. This bull market can't continue.
