But Java doesn't give us more quality in our lives. Java fails to
deliver in many areas.

1) More hardware resources
- Processor cycles
- Ram

2) Less reliable
- imagine a slew of incompatible JVM's from competing vendors. How
can I deploy an application and ever expect it to run without
problems?

Java doesn't offer much for sticky issues like versioning and
backwards compatability either.

Java is suitable for applet development for company intranets who have
a diverse environment (Windows, Mac, Unix).
